When our daughter was between her 8th-9th grade year of school, she descended into what became a 5+ year battle with depression, anxiety, self harm, suicidal ideation, and a brush with anorexia.  My husband and I were completely blindsided, and so was our daughter.  Around the end of year two, I reached the lowest point I had ever been in.  I was exhausted, distressed, confused and I didn’t know how to cope with everything we were facing.  I was filled with pain at what our daughter was going through and wasn’t being the kind of Mom I wanted to be for our four other children. I didn’t know how to do anything else besides just survive each day.  I literally felt like I was drowning.

About this time, a friend recommended a life coach’s podcast which I started listening to.  As I came to understand and use the tools, I felt hope for the first time in many, many months.  My pain began to lessen and I started to feel more like myself.  Eventually, I learned to thrive again even though our daughter was still struggling.  As I began to change my brain by practicing what I was being taught, I found that I had so much more to offer to everyone in my life.  I quit making decisions out of fear and learned what to do with the sorrow.  I learned to stop feeling confused, unsure and overwhelmed.  It was truly life changing!  

It was so life changing, I decided to help others who are stuck where I used to be!  I’ve since become a certified Life Coach through The Life Coach School.  There is nothing better than watching changes happen in my client’s lives as I share the tools that help them thrive again.
